As Lowell Sun reported, a Lawrence man was arrested and arraigned after police said he used his cellphone to secretly record a child changing inside a family locker room at the Greater Lowell YMCA. Joel Giron, 28, was taken into custody following the October incident at the facility on YMCA Drive.
According to a Lowell Police incident report, a mother discovered a phone with three camera lenses pointed beneath a partition in a handicap stall where her daughter was changing. Staff stopped the suspect as he attempted to leave, and investigators later used membership records to trace Giron to a Lawrence address.
Giron was arraigned in Lowell District Court on a charge of electronically surveilling the intimate parts of a child and ordered held on twenty thousand dollars cash bail.
